Community Service Requirements
Completing a certain number of community service and/or shadowing hours will be required each year. These hours will be comprised of a mix of shadowing and community service. Community service can be non-animal related, but shadowing used to fulfill these hours should be animal related.
- 20 hours freshman year
- 30 hours sophomore year
- 40 hours junior year
- 25 community service/shadowing hours senior year plus 30 hours outside of class devoted to senior project
Animal Related Shadowing Examples
- Great Plains Nature Center (Reptile/amphibian care or bird/opossum care)
- Sedgwick County Zoo
- Kansas Human Society
- Kansas Wildlife Exhibit (Part of the Great Plains Nature Center)
